High heat and humidity will return with a vengeance this week, along with back-to-back chance of storms.

Heatwave, multiple chances of thunderstorms this week
A heatwave will impact Chicago this week, according to predictions from the National Weather Service (NWS).
Highs will soar into the upper 80s for much of the week.
Monday and Tuesday will see highs around 87 degrees and a 20% chance of isolated storms each day.
Wednesday will bring sunny skies and scorching temps with a high of 91 degrees. Stormy conditions will follow on Thursday, with a 30% chance of showers before noon.
The rain will clear come the weekend, but temperatures will remain in the mid to low 80s for the duration.
As for when it will begin feeling more like fall in Chicago, we’ve got some bad news—the longterm outlook suggests another several weeks of high heat ahead.
Predictions from Time and Date show daily highs in the upper 70s to 80s for at least the next two weeks.
