It’s shaping up to be a historic WNBA season for the Chicago Sky and breakout star Angel Reese — Saturday’s showdown with rival Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever drew a record average of 2.7 million viewers.
Clark ultimately led the Fever to a dominant 93–58 win over the Sky, according to ESPN.
Largest Regular Season Audience Since Y2K

According to Sports Media Watch, the game drew the largest regular-season WNBA audience since Memorial Day 2000, topping out at 3.1 million viewers.
It also ranked as the second-most-watched WNBA game overall in that time span, surpassed only by the 2024 All-Star Game, which reached 3.44 million viewers.
Reese vs. Clark Rivalry Sparks Sky-High Ratings

Much of the WNBA’s rising viewership can be credited to the high-profile rivalry between Reese and Clark, both of whom entered the league in 2024 and quickly became fan favorites.
While Saturday’s game ended in a tough loss for the Sky, there’s still plenty of time left for a comeback before the regular season wraps this fall.
