Today may not be the ideal day for an afternoon walk. Major storms are rolling through Chicago today, and while the Storm Prediction Center has downgraded its threat assessment for the Chicagoland area from level three to level two.
According to Fox 32 Chicago, this does not mean it’s an “all clear,” but it does suggest that we might experience less intense thunderstorms in our region.

Chicago severe weather alert
Meteorologist Mike Caplan from Fox Chicago stated that the skies will be mostly cloudy, with highs reaching the mid to upper 60s. It will be quite breezy, with gusts up to 30 mph.
We can expect some showers and thunderstorms late this morning into the early afternoon. While all hazards associated with thunderstorms are possible, including heavy downpours, the risk of significant tornadoes has decreased.
