Chicago is set for some severe weather tonight, with heavy rains, strong winds, and even tornadoes possible across the region.

Tornado watch threat, 70mph winds possible
The National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Cook County Thursday, with severe storms possible this afternoon and tonight.
The NWS predicts an elevated thunderstorm risk and level 3-5 tornado risk Thursday night, with winds up to 70mph possible.
The greatest tornado risk will effect areas in northwest Illinois, west of I-39, according to the NWS.
Hail up to a quarter inch in size is also possible, as well as flooding in low lying areas.
Additional showers are possible Friday night into Saturday morning.
