Tornado watch threat, 70mph winds possible

The National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Cook County Thursday, with severe storms possible this afternoon and tonight.
The NWS predicts an elevated thunderstorm risk and level 3-5 tornado risk Thursday night, with winds up to 70mph possible.
The greatest tornado risk will effect areas in northwest Illinois, west of I-39, according to the NWS.

Hail up to a quarter inch in size is also possible, as well as flooding in low lying areas.
