Before you know it, we’ll wake up from summer—the days of diving into the waters at a Chicago beach, dining on a rooftop restaurant, and street festivals will be over.
However, that means we get to bundle up in our favorite sweater, bite into the crispiest apple, and get a little spooky with Halloween-related activities.. One of them is pumpkins, of course, so here are the Chicago pumpkin patches to head to this fall.

Jack’s Pumpkin Patch
Situated right in the middle of the city, Jack’s Pumpkin Patch spans two acres across Goose Island. Guests will find Chicago’s largest corn maze, carnival games, photo opportunities, axe throwing, various bars, food trucks, and over ten thousand pumpkins all within the over-the-top outdoor pop-up.
Whether you want to get lost in the largest and only cornfield in downtown Chicago, pick from a plethora of prodigious pumpkins, or put on your props and snap those fall memories in front of some creative installations, there is truly something for everybody.

Goebbert’s Pumpkin Patch
First on our best Chicago pumpkin patches list goes all out for fall, and before anything can be said dismissing that notion, you should know about a Pumpkin-Eating Dinosaur. You’ll only find that out of all the Chicago pumpkin patches at Goebbert’s Pumpkin Patch.
They also hold an annual Fall Festival with loads of seasonal attractions, including a life-sized Charlotte’s Web, corn stalk maze, play yard, and a haunted house. And it goes without saying, some plump pumpkins for the picking.

Jonamac Orchard
Sprawling a 12-acre patch, Jonamac’s Pumpkin Patch has a huge selection of pumpkins with thousands of different pumpkins of different shapes and sizes. We’re certain you’ll find a unique “pick of the patch” for yourself or your family.
Besides pumpkin picking, hop on their hayride for a ride out to the patch and use one of their wagons to help haul your harvest—whether you want to use the pumpkin for decor or dessert, Jonamac is the place to do it.

The Pumpkin Wagon
Opening mid-September and extending to October 31st, head to The Pumpkin Wagon for a gorgeous variety of fall decor and a variety of produce. With a selection of pumpkins, gourds, squash, potted mums, decorative broom corn, corn shocks, hand-bundled ornamental Indian corn, and straw bales, you’ll find everything you need on your fall list.

Sonny Acres Farm
Established in 1883, Sonny Acres Farm is in it for the long run. Still standing after 140 years in business, Sonny Acres yields a wide variety of fruit and produce by the season. Every year, the farm holds a fall festival that, in addition to its pumpkin patch, features its Farm Fresh Market, carnival rides, and, of course, a Halloween Costume Gift Shop.

Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm
Another generational pumpkin patch, Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm, has housed the Siegel Family for over 100 years. To this day, the farm regularly yields corn, hay, pumpkins, soybeans, Christmas trees, and more. What makes this place more special is the annual Pumpkin Fest the Siegel’s holds to celebrate the season, with 30 attractions spread over 40 acres of farmland.
What kind of attractions, you ask? There is a pumpkin patch, five sports ball zones, a haunted barn, a sniper zombie paintball ride, a climbing wall, gem mining, and more! Of course, their festival comes with all the fixings food-wise: smoked turkey legs, pulled pork parfaits, apple cider doughnuts, funnel cake, and more on the menu!

Kuipers Family Farm
Maple Park, Illinois, sounds like it could be a fictional town from Disney. However, it is a real place you could get to for a day’s getaway. It’s home to the Kuiper’s Family Farm, including its pumpkin patch and one of our favorite apple-picking patches.
During their fall season, you can set loose on their 71-acre pumpkin patch or save yourself time and choose one of their hand-selected pumpkins. In addition to pumpkins, Kuiper’s features many other fun activities to entertain the whole family: from a life-sized Charlotte’s web, pig races, mountain slide, carnival games, chalk house, and more; you’ll be in for a treat no matter what!

Bengtson’s Pumpkin Farm
Bengston’s Pumpkin Farm doesn’t play around with when it comes to pumpkins—and you may even shout It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! Tens of thousands of pumpkins come in every wacky shape, color, and size you can imagine.
If it so happens that you find a pumpkin muse that fills you with undeniable jack-o-lantern inspiration, Bengston’s has carving supplies on deck for you to carve out your Halloween masterpiece right then and there.

County Line Orchard
Whether you want to get your hands on a pumpkin or some of the freshest Honeycrisp apples in the Midwest, you’ll want to take a trip to the County Line Orchard in Hobart, Indiana. County Line also features numerous other attractions, such as their annual corn maze, sunflower field, and bee yurts!

Dieder’s Farm
This idyllic farm is in one of our favorite charming towns outside Chicago. After closing down last year, Didier’s Farm is officially back. Happy Times Pumpkin Fest commences at the end of September with a pumpkin patch, family friend corn maze, and fall activities that will excite the whole family.

Heap’s Giant Pumpkin Farm
Giant is in the name–so it’s not surprising there are a ton of things to do at this 25-acre pumpkin farm. Between a variety of pumpkins, gourds, and squashes, you’ll be able to grab all your fall-related produce, or you can hang out with farm animals or take a sunset hayride. There’s a reason it’s deemed one of the best Chicago pumpkin patches.
