The Chicago area boasts an array of incredible auditoriums ranging from enormous multiplexes with screens the size of a professional basketball court to vintage art houses that have clung to life in historic venues while others bite the dust.
None of these, however, despite either their classical charm or cutting-edge amenities can offer the unique experience that the Chicago Philharmonic Auditorium will be providing this year.
This February the brand-new Auditorium Philms Concert Series will bring iconic films to life screening them in their entirety while accompanied by scores performed in concert by an all-electric 11-piece chamber orchestra.
The new multi-media experience kicks off with the North American premiere of one of the all-time sci-fi classics Blade Runner: In Concert on February 17 at the Auditorium Theatre stage with members of the Chicago Philharmonic performing the thrilling futuristic score by Vangelis mixed in-sync with dialogue and sound effects from the original film.
The inaugural event series will then continue with Batman 1989 in its 35th Anniversary year on April 13 followed by back-to-back days of Marvel Studios’ Black Panther on June 22 & 23 which the Chicago Philharmonic first presented at the 2022 Chicago Premiere of the film concert.
The North American debut of Bram Stoker’s Dracula will then screen just in time for Halloween on October 26 and the pop holiday fan favorite, Love Actually will then wrap up the 2024 run of the Auditorium Philms Concert Series on December 7.
