Chicago’s popular “You Name a Snowplow” contest is back this winter, and voting is now open!
The mayor’s office has released the 25 finalists for the 2026 edition of the beloved tradition. Voters will choose 6 winning names to apply to the Windy City’s snow plow fleet.

This year’s name a snow plow finalists consist of some decidedly clever and Chicago-specific puns. Here are just a few of the laugh-worthy highlights:
- Caleb “Chilliams”
- Derrick “Froze”
- Svencoolie
- Pope “Frío” XIV
- Chance the “Scraper”
- Urbs in “Hortsnow”

Previous winning names from years past include other hilarious Chicago-inspired monikers including “Lollaplowlooza,” “Skilling It,” and “Jean Baptiste Point du Shovel.”
Chicagoans can vote for up to 6 names, one for each of the city’s snow plow districts. The voting period is open now through Saturday, February, 14.
