Brookfield Zoo’s relaunching Name a Cockroach program
Chicago’s biggest zoo is bringing back its fan-favorite “Name a Cockroach” program.
For a $15 donation, Chicagoans with an axe to grind can name a Madagascar hissing cockroach after an ex, an old boss, a childhood bully, or other enemy of their choice!
Participants will receive an honorary Certificate of Naming for personalizing and displaying.
Brookfield Zoo will also display select entries on its Cockroach Naming Board outside the Hamill Family Play Zoo.
To have a name included on the Cockroach Naming Board, be sure to submit your entry by 5 p.m. on February 5, 2026.
