It looks like we Chicagoans are in good hands—specifically, the hands of doctors—because two hospitals in Chicago have once again been recognized among the top 20 in the nation.
According to the latest rankings from U.S. News and World Report, Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Rush University Medical Center both made the publication’s Honor Roll, which highlights the top-performing hospitals across the country.

The “Best Hospitals” list evaluated nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide across 14 specialties, using data points such as patient care, patient outcomes, patient experience, and staffing. Only 178 U.S. hospitals performed well enough to be nationally ranked in one or more specialties.
Chicago also ranked highly, with 20 hospitals earning “Best Regional Hospital” honors for providing care to underserved patients.
