Chicago just saw its first measurable snowfall in 290 consecutive days!
The Chicago area had its first measurable snow of the season yesterday after a record-breaking snow drought. This season surpassed the latest first measurable snow drought recorded back in 2012 making it the latest first measurable snowfall in Chicago since records began in 1909.
We may not have had the white Christmas that many snowbirds would have been hoping for but we’ve had a taste of that first significant winter storm and it made for some wonderful photos. We know Chicago’s winter doesn’t have too many fans but few can deny the beauty it brings. Chicago’s many landmarks, astounding architecture, and cute corners across the city offer up some marvelous sights blanketed in snowflakes, and so here we’ve compiled a few of our favorites.
