Despite today’s sunshine soon to give way to potentially severe storms this week, spring is well and truly here and summer is just around the corner. As warmer weather returns, flowers begin filling parks with color, outdoor markets and festivals come back in their dozens, and Chicago transforms into a jubilant metropolis once again offering a whole host of exceptional summer experiences.
There’s good reason Chicago ranks as one of the best places to visit in summer and it’s largely down to its many waterways that give us respite as summer heats up,
The lakefront and riverwalk return to life with a fantastic array of waterfront dining spots to choose from but there are also plenty of cruises and boating experiences offering unforgettable memories on the water courtesy of numerous operators.
Chicago Electric Boat Company, best known for its fleet of self-captained, eco-friendly vessels, is one of the city’s top rental operators, and today, April 15th, is the day they once again begin providing private and public experiences on the city’s waterways.
Since launching in 2012, the company has offered a unique, environmentally friendly way to experience the city of Chicago thanks to its trusted fleet of easy-to-operate 100% electric vessels.
From classic or luxury Duffy Boats to Party Barges, Cycleboats, Donut Boats, and now even rentable hot tub boats there are a variety of captained or self-captained options for any group sizes up to 26 people.
This season Chicago Electric Boat Company has announced some exciting new and improved boating options including “a fleet of new vibrant Pontoon Boats plus updated public Chicago History Tours and Ghost tours on the Party Barge, and new offerings on their Lake Michigan dock.”
The new vibrant pontoon boats, available at 3 different docking locations (Avondale’s Rockwell on the River, Marina City in the Loop, and Lake Michigan’s Monroe Harbor), fit up to 12 passengers and come kitted with “adjustable canopies, plush seating, upgraded stereos, underwater lights, and more.”
As always, there will also be a full fleet of returning favorites including Retro Boats all of which can be seen at www.chicagoelectricboats.com.
