Chicago’s cherry blossoms are beginning to bloom, turning several of the city’s beautiful gardens into stunning ethereal escapes as spring kicks into gear.
One place where you’re guaranteed to see cherry blossoms, in addition to a whole array of plants, flowers, and tranquil natural spaces, is the 385-acre Chicago Botanic Garden.
One of the world’s great living museums and conservation science centers, the garden is home to 28 gardens and four natural areas all set on nine islands and spanning six miles of lake shoreline.
To celebrate the arrival of spring, the beloved botanic garden is offering guests free admission today, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Preregistration for nonmembers is required and can be obtained up to two months in advance of free admission days which are all listed on the Chicago Botanic Garden website.
According to the Chicago Botanic Garden, active-duty military, U.S. military reservists and former POWs, Link and WIC cardholders, Illinois educators, and those in possession of a kids’ museum passport do not need to pre-register for advance tickets.
