One of Chicago’s premier burger destinations, Au Cheval, has shuttered its doors.
But don’t panic—it’s only temporary!
The critically acclaimed restaurant announced the closure on its official website, chalking the move up to a much-needed “refresh.”
“We look forward to welcoming you back in late May,” reads a message on the Au Cheval site.
The Fulton Market eatery has earned a loyal following since opening over a decade ago, offering elevated diner fare in rustic digs.
Perhaps Au Cheval’s biggest draw is its burger, which has been ranked among the best in the U.S. by Yelp.
If you’re craving one of the restaurant’s signature burgers, you can still get your fix before the end of the month by visiting any of the company’s counter-serve Small Cheval locations.
Small Cheval offers a pared-down version of the Au Cheval menu, with highlights like a double cheeseburger, fried chicken sandwich, and hand-spun milkshakes.
