Chicago’s cherished Art on TheMART projections returned in April to once again light up the 2.5-acre river façade of the Merchandise Mart each night with spectacular art displays through to winter.
Returning with a special spring program in celebration of its 5th anniversary, the Merchandise Mart has been projecting new commissions by internationally renowned artists Derrick Adams along with new works by local Chicago Public Schools (CPS) seniors.
Now a nightly program of “bold, bright colors and messages of inclusivity” will join the projections for this month only to celebrate Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month (LGBT Pride Month).
The best places to view the projections are from the jetty section of the Chicago Riverwalk between Wells and Franklin Streets.
The 30-minute spring shows currently run twice nightly at 9 pm and 9:30 pm.
