Angel Reese is bidding the Windy City farewell—the Chicago Sky forward and WNBA star is joining the Atlanta dream.
The Sky announced the trade in a statement released Monday, stating the team will acquire two first-round draft picks in exchange for Reese.
“This trade is designed to achieve roster balance and represents a great opportunity for all parties,” Chicago Sky General Manager Jeff Pagliocca said.
Pagliocca thanked Reese, adding “Angel has achieved many record-breaking milestones in her first two years in the WNBA and has been a competitive force for the Sky.”
“We are thankful for her many important contributions to this league and this game, and we know she will continue to have a big impact on the court and beyond. We wish Angel all the best in her next chapter.”

The Chicago Sky selected Reese No. 7 overall in the 2024 WNBA draft. Reese went on to make 64 career appearances with the team.
Reese averaged 14.1 points, 12.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists with the Sky and was a two-time All-Star, according to the team.
As part of the trade, the Chicago Sky will also have first-round draft picks in the upcoming 2026-2028 seasons.
The Sky’s 2026 season begins Saturday, May 9 with the team’s matchup against the Portland Fire.
