
The traditional Scandinavian holiday Midsommar falls on next month’s summer solstice—but you don’t need to leave Chicago to celebrate.
Andersonville’s beloved Midsommarfest returns June 13–15 for its 59th year, hosted by the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce.
This year’s event spans two full days and three lively nights, with more than 80,000 attendees expected.
Guest can kick off the weekend with the traditional Maypole raising on Saturday, June 14 at 11 a.m.
From there, the vibrant street festival will take over the North Clark Street corridor with live entertainment, local food and drink, neighborhood vendors, and all-things Swedish culture.
Admission for the festival includes a $10 suggested donation. Proceeds from the event with go towards the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce’s mission of supporting local business, neighborhood upkeep, and community services.
VIP ticket packages are also available, including access to exclusive post-fest events, all-inclusive drink tickets, and other perks.
