Over 1,000 Bon Jovi fans will be belting out a hit from their windows this weekend.
Open your window on Saturday at 7pm to join Bon Jovi fans across the city as they unite in song. The track of choice will be “Livin’ On A Prayer,” which couldn’t be more appropriate during these unsettling times.
The Chicago-Wide Window Sing-a-Long event on Facebook was inspired by the viral videos of Italians singing from their balconies amid the ongoing lockdown. As COVID-19 cases continue to spike, many Chicagoans are already practicing self-isolation. Making this window sing-a-long a welcomed opportunity to engage in the community while maintaining distance.
The growing attendee count—which has already surpassed 1,800 and an additional 4,200 “interested”—is proof that these unusual circumstances call for solidarity.
The instructions on the page state that “Social distancing can’t keep us from getting together in song. Let’s all hang out and sing as one.”
If you’re a die-hard Bon Jovi fan then you won’t need a second invite and if you aren’t, but want to join in, you can gather lyrics here and line up the song on your sound system. Otherwise, head to your window and enjoy the action!
