Just as when we were thinking spring was around the corner.
Chicago is in for its first big snowstorm of the year with an expected six inches dropping over the course of Wed, Thurs, and possibly into Fri. We’ve got worse news, though; the storm is supposed to start during your evening commute. Not cool, Chicago.
While skies Wed morning might seem innocent enough, it’s all a ruse. Snow is expected to start in the south suburbs and Northwest Indiana and reach the city after 5 p.m. Tonight we’ll probably get 2-4 inches from the storm which will continue into Thurs morning, according to the national weather service. Lake effect snow is also possible Thurs night into Fri morning.
If you’re able to leave work a little early today, we would recommend trying to get on the road before 5 p.m. If you can’t leave work early, be careful on the roads or take public transit. Make sure to bundle up as winds gusts could get as high as 20 mph, making 30 degrees feel even colder than usual.
