Chicago and NASCAR officials have unveiled the official traffic plan for the 2025 Chicago Street Race, set for July 5-6 in Grant Park.
Phased street closures will begin June 19 and wrap up by July 14, with efforts to minimize disruptions to local traffic and businesses.
According to the Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC), NASCAR and city officials have cut setup and takedown time by 42% compared to the inaugural 2023 race—reducing total street closures to 25 days.
Key Road Closures and Dates:
- Thursday, June 19 – Balbo Dr. (Columbus Dr. → DuSable Lake Shore Dr.) closes.
- Monday, June 23 – Ida B. Wells Dr. (Michigan Ave. → Columbus Dr.) closes.
- Monday, June 30 – Columbus Dr. (Jackson Dr. → Roosevelt Rd.) closes.
- Thursday, July 3 – Major closures on Michigan Ave. and DuSable Lake Shore Dr.
- Sunday, July 14 – All NASCAR-related closures end.
