Here’s everything to know about the Pokagon State Park Toboggan Run!
All about the Toboggan Run at Pokagon State Park

Pokagon State Park in Angola, Indiana, has a unique feature you won’t find many places in the Midwest—a toboggan run.
A toboggan run is a steep chute or track covered in snow or ice, designed for high-speed sledding. Think of it as an old-timey amusement park ride.
Pokagon State Park built its toboggan run nearly 100 years ago in 1935.
Over the years the slide has undergone several renovations, and now features a quarter-mile refrigerated track. This allows riders to enjoy the toboggan run even when there’s no snow on the ground.

Riders descend from a 30-foot tower and quickly slide along a 90-foot vertical drop, with top recorded speeds of 42 mph.
As the park puts it, the toboggan run is a “20-30 second thrill ride.”
Guests can take a break from the action at nearby picnic tables and enjoy on-site concessions, or bring a packed lunch.
