Chicagoans were delighted to learn that Windy City-born Pope Leo XIV is a die-hard White Sox fan after his inauguration in 2025.
The pope most notably attended the team’s first game of the 2005 World Series.

White Sox giving away pope-inspired hats this summer

The White Sox is giving away a special-edition pope hat during the Tuesday, August 11 home game against the Cincinnati Reds, according to a report from MLB.
The hat features the a traditional pope’s hat or miter, with the White Sox logo emblazoned on the front.
The hat is included as part of a special ticket package.
The pope-hat ticket package is going fast, and the White Sox just added a limited amount of additional tickets.
