A poisonous piece of The White Lotus Season 3 is taking center stage at the Field Museum.
Fans of the wildly popular series may recognize the poisonous Pong Pong tree from Season 3 — a real plant native to Thailand, India, and Oceania.
Known as the “suicide tree,” the Pong Pong is a highly toxic plant whose seeds and leaves can cause cardiovascular failure, according to Time Magazine. The tree has historically been used as a weapon in parts of Southeast Asia.

Now, the Field Museum is giving fans a closer look at the infamous plant, showcasing its seeds as part of its “Meet a Scientist” series.
According to CBS Chicago, museum visitors can join botany experts Kimberly Hansen and Chrissy Christian to explore the world of medicinal, poisonous, and native plants.
The “Meet a Scientist” series takes place Mondays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with access included in all general admission tickets.
