Chicago weather has taken a turn for the warmer! After the polar vortex brought frigid temperatures last week, the thermometer has shot up into the low fifties. Here’s how long this unseasonable warmth will stick around.
Temperatures will reach a high of 51 degrees on Tuesday, nearly 70 degrees warmer than last week when factoring in the -11 degree wind chill.
The best part? The mild weather in Chicago will last through the week! The National Weather Service forecasts daily highs between 44 and 51 degrees until Friday.
Wednesday will bring showers to much of the region, with sunny skies returning on Thursday.
However, by the weekend, the NWS predicts a drop in temperatures, with highs back in the upper 30s.
In short, Chicago is getting a reprieve from the bitter cold this week. Does this mean spring has arrived early in the Windy City or could the polar vortex rear its head once again? Only time will tell!
