Alternative music lovers in Chicago were undoubtedly heartbroken when Pitchfork music festival announced its permanent hiatus following the 2024 event.
But now, a new Chicago music festival is stepping up to fill the space left behind, and the 2026 lineup is officially here!

Warm Love, Cool Dreams at the Salt Shed

The popular “Warm Love, Cool Dreams” music and arts festival is back for its second edition at the Salt Shed this Memorial Day weekend in Chicago from May 23-24.
Presented by The Empty Bottle, the festival will take over the full venue grounds, featuring performances from dozens of big-name and local acts.
Notable names on the 2026 lineup include Australian singer songwriter Courtney Barnett, 80s alt rock legends The Jesus and Mary Chain, and indie pop act Toro y Moi.

Local bands Whitney and Pixel Grip will also take the stage, along with nearly a dozen other artists.
In addition to nonstop music, guests can expect local food and drink options, arts and craft vendors, and good times galore.
