When we think about convenience, “Tap to Pay” usually comes to mind. In fact, we often expect this feature to be available everywhere, and when it isn’t, it can feel like an inconvenience. However, two major national brands have listened to their customers’ grievances and are now introducing this option.
Walmart and Sam’s Club will officially let shoppers pay with contactless cards
You can shout from the rooftops if you shop at Walmart and Sam’s Club, because selected Walmart stores and Sam’s Club locations have begun implementing Tap to Pay payment options. And if your local store doesn’t have it yet—don’t worry. There are plans to extend this service to all U.S. stores and clubs by the end of 2026, and to fuel stations by mid-2027.
Additionally, customers and members can add their eligible Walmart, Sam’s Club, and OnePay cards to their digital wallets, offering another convenient way to use their cards.
