While sitting down in one Lincoln Square coffee shop, the setting is reminiscent of the quiet cabin of a long-haul flight preparing for takeoff.
Welcome to City Skyline Coffee Lounge, a neighborhood gem that has designed its entire experience around aviation.
The decor is not just themed; it features components from retired airplanes sourced from across the country.
A coffee lounge built entirely from retired aircraft parts
The interior of City Skyline Coffee Lounge is a singular experience. You can sip a latte under a light fixture made from a parachute or set up your laptop on a table built with riveted metal, just like an airplane wing.
The coffee station uses authentic airline service carts from US Airways, and a section of a decommissioned fuselage is built right into the wall. It’s complete with original windows and passenger seats where you can sit.
Adding to the atmosphere is Simon, the shop’s puppy mascot, who greets guests and even has his own pilot-themed sticker.
You can visit City Skyline Coffee Lounge in Lincoln Square at 4755 N Lincoln Ave. The shop is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
