If you weren’t aware, Carmine’s is back to serving Italian-American classics on Rush Street after nearly three years of anticipation—and it looks quite different from when it last opened.
When you walk in, you’ll be greeted by a spiral staircase surrounded by moody tones and rich wood finishes, complemented by brass detailing that leads to an upstairs supper club atmosphere. It has everything you would want in a classic Italian spot—plush leather banquettes, artistic lighting, and the enticing aroma of fresh pasta wafting through the room.
While the interior is impressive, it’s the exterior that takes center stage, especially on 80-degree days.
Carmine’s features a stunning four-season terrace located directly across from the Viagra Triangle. In addition to a retractable roof, the terrace provides lovely views of the park and a 360-degree bar that seamlessly connects the indoor and outdoor spaces.
Chicago’s largest chicken parm
On the menu, it’s a collection of greatest hits done right. Carmine’s has its baked clams, Mama’s meatball salad, and its signature pastas and red sauces. However, the highlight is the Chicken Parmesan. Though it comes at a higher price, it is the largest in the city, generously smothered with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella. Each bite will leave you wanting more.
