Marvel at Van Gogh’s masterpieces at this unique and immersive experience!
The globetrotting Van Gogh for All exhibit has landed in Chicago! Focusing on the artist’s work from his time in Arles, Saint-Rémy, and Auvers sur Oise, the new exhibit allows guests the chance to walk in the footsteps of Vincent van Gogh and immerse themselves in his life story.
The interactive, hands-on pop-up experience opened on the Magnificent Mile on Sunday, August 15, and will run for six weeks through Sunday, September 26!
Today, Vincent Van Gogh is a household name around the world, his works are among the most expensive paintings to have ever sold, and he has become one of – if not the – most recognized painter of all time. Essays, books, podcasts, posters, you name it – details of Van Gogh’s life and his famed works have been studied and replicated a million times over.
Most recently, however, spellbinding exhibitions have begun cropping up utilizing modern technology and lifelike recreations to engage 21st-century audiences. By employing the wonders of modern technology, we are given a new lens with which to experience Van Gogh’s extraordinary 19th-century masterpieces and better understand what shaped his creations.
Chicago’s new Van Gogh for All exhibit offers residents a deep dive into his world. Visitors can be more than just passive spectators standing in front of his paintings admiring the distinct brushwork and expressive use of color. Instead, they can transport themselves directly into the world of Vincent Van Gogh and submerge themselves in the elegance of his renowned creativity.
Guests will find themselves in Vincent Van Gogh’s Bedroom in Arles, sat at a table from his famous Café Terrace at Night, or taking a nap with the muses of The Siesta.
Art stations allow guests to try their best at painting sunflowers in Van Gogh’s famous style or manipulate the post-impressionist painter’s famed masterpieces on a 12-foot-wide interactive projection of Starry Night.
The unique 3,000-square-foot traveling exhibit does not claim to boast numerous original works nor overwhelm guests with an abundance of immersive technology. Rather it seeks to engage curious learners with an experientially rich experience and a variety of sensory experiences.
As well as being educational and exploring the memories of the eccentric genius, Van Gogh for All provides an enjoyable photo-op wonderland and an array of hands-on displays.
Through creativity and multimedia, this experience transcends the typical museum adventure and provides an entertaining experience of one of the most famous painters to have ever lived.
Open seven days a week, from 9 am to 8 pm through September 26, Van Gogh for All is the perfect day out for young and old alike.
