The United Center Will Serve As An Election Day Voting Super Site

There are no fans any time soon but Chicagoans can at least vote where the Bulls and the Blackhawks usually play.

On November 3, 2020, the United Center will be used as an “Election Day Super Site” for the 2020 general election. The Chicago Board of Elections has been expanding its number of polling places and searching for additional safe and accessible places for Chicagoans to vote.

It’s the first time the famed arena will have been used as a voting site in its 26 year history. As well as being the renowned home of the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks, in March 2020 the United Arena became the chief logistical hub for Chicago’s efforts against Covid 19.

All Chicagoans are invited to vote at the United Center on election day regardless of where their typical polling place is located. Of course, Coronavirus safety measures will be taken. Masks and hand sanitizer will be provided on-site and polling stations equipped with plexiglass dividers will be stationed at least six feet apart from one another.

The arena will be open for voting at 6 am on Tuesday and close at 7 pm. Chicagoans can vote in person or drop off a mail-in ballot.
