Popular makeup retailer Ulta is closing its storefront within the Roosevelt Collection Shops (150 W Roosevelt Road), the latest in a series of closures affecting the outdoor shopping mall in Chicago’s South Loop.
Store to close in June
The store will officially close at the collection shops on June 14, first reported by Block Club Chicago.
While Ulta has not given an exact reason for the closure, reports indicate that slowed sales growth and competition from rivals like Sephora could be a factor.
The news follows the recent closures of The Container Store and Kido Chicago at the same retail complex.
Save up to 75% off
Ahead of the closure, Ulta is offering major markdowns—select products are discounted by as much as 75%, according to a TikTok posted by user @iamshonnaaaa on Wednesday.
