Participating Chicago Public School students and teachers will be able to board the most famous ship to ever sail the sees as Titanic: The Exhibition launches its new “Free Field Trip Days” program through January 5, 2025.
There’s plenty to discover for all, but students will especially enjoy the chance to get out of the classroom and feel as though they’re walking through a history book!
Having started November 14, students from select schools can explore the iconic ship’s story, free of charge, through interactive displays, rare artifacts, and immersive recreations.
Highlights of the experience include meeting Mark Lach, Titanic artifact recovery diver, and author Jay Bonansinga, who adds unique insights about historic maritime disasters.
In addition to the Free Field Trip Days program, Titanic: The Exhibition will host special holiday events, such as Titanic Revelry: An Irish Christmas on Titanic, celebrating Irish culture with music, food, and traditions.
Titanic: The Exhibition features re-creations of Titanic’s Grand Staircase, the promenade deck under a starlit sky, and an all-new Discovery Gallery, where visitors “walk” along the ocean floor where Titanic’s wreckage was discovered. Guests are also invited to follow a real passenger’s story, culminating in a touching tribute wall.
Titanic: The Exhibition has already welcomed over 150,000 visitors from 50 states and 30 countries, captivating audiences with its blend of history, storytelling, and emotion. Now, it will reach even more as over a thousand students are invited to the education experience for free!
