Chicagoans woke up to some unseasonably warm weather Friday, but the mild conditions won’t last long—thunderstorms are on the way, with a steep drop in temperatures to follow.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely this evening before 1 a.m., with additional rain possible into early Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Rainfall could be intense at times, with a 60% chance of precipitation overall.
Come Saturday, temperatures will drop to a more seasonable high of 55 degrees. Spotty showers are expected through the remainder of the weekend, per the NWS.
Daily highs will hover around the 60-degree mark early next week, climbing into the low 70s by Wednesday.
All in all, it’s shaping up to be a soggy weekend in Chicago—so keep your raincoat handy!
