Two beloved restaurants have come together to create something great. Roka Akor, a Japanese-style restaurant specializing in sushi and steak, is partnering with The Macallan, a world-renowned Scotch distillery to create a one-of-a-kind experience in River North. Located right next door to Roka Akor, the new space is dedicated to providing selections of whiskies and cocktails while also bringing Roka selections to the table!
With a ten-course tasting menu made to highlight the ingredients and flavors of the Macallan whisky-making process, this dining experience works closely with the culinary team in Aberlour, Scotland to bring flavors like native barley, yeast, oak, sherry, and whisky to each dish.
The menu is ever-changing with items like Toro Sashimi with baked Macallan yeast seasoning, Wagyu Tataki with barley miso sauce and fresh truffle, American Wagyu Filet Wellington with mushroom duxelles, prosciutto and a Macallan demi-glace on the menu. The M Room also offers exclusive beverage pairing ($145), from whiskey options to craft cocktails and more, each drink can include a rare whiskey you won’t find anywhere else. Scotch lovers will rejoice in these delightful pairings. There’s also a wine list for anyone who prefers a good glass of red.
Bringing both The Macallan lovers and the whiskey explorers together, the 10-course menu ($185) shows off chef Ce Bian’s Japanese culinary influences with ingredients that are standard in the whisky-making process.
