The Darling has taken outdoor dining to a whole new (and safe) level!
Looks like The Darling has taken a cue from Amsterdam with its adorable greenhouses perfect for outdoor dining. Located in the West Loop, the restaurant took advantage of the closing of Randolph street, and set up its outdoor dining area, the Rose Garden, adorning it with private little greenhouses that make socially-distanced dining all the more charming!
The Darling’s Rose Garden has a total of 10 greenhouses for tables of two or four that guests can cozy up in for some snacks and a drink. The greenhouses are sanitized after each seating and guests can take a look at the menu online, making the process entirely safe and contactless.
The menu offers a delectable selection of British-inspired dishes and libations, including a collaboration sandwich with neighboring J.P. Graziano Grocery ($15) with smoked salmon, basil-caper cream cheese, cucumbers, red onions, arugula and truffle vinaigrette. Other delicious options include short-rib-stuffed beignets with peanut butter dipping sauce ($14) and a decadent chocolate mousse with Bailey’s whipped cream and whiskey caramel ($8). All drinks are available by the glass or by the pitcher including wine and beer buckets. We suggest trying their “Secret Garden” ($15/ $85) a refreshing cocktail featuring vodka, lime juice, raspberry brandy, genepy, grapefruit soda and edible hibiscus flower.
Seating The Darling’s Rose Garden is available Friday through Sunday and requires a $10 deposit per person to reserve your greenhouse. You can find it at 905 W Randolph St.
