Boozy hot chocolates and propane heaters? Yes, please.
One of River West’s favorite cocktail taverns is coming back with a bang this weekend. The Dandy Crown on 694 North Milwaukee Avenue will reopen their patio on Fridays and Saturdays starting from Friday, January 8, 2021. The covered patio had been decked out with fire pits, propane heaters, and alpine decorations to offer a toasty après-ski winter vibe hideout during the harsh winter months.
The patio will also offer some unique hot cocktails including their iconic rotating hot Crockpot Cocktail, and a boozy hot chocolate courtesy of a collaboration with Bittersweet Pastry Shop. There will also be S’mores Kits and Hot Chocolate Bombs from Sugar Bliss Cakes so you can feast on warm chocolate snacks while sipping a cocktail in a heated corner of the patio.
Any purchase of a Vesper cocktail, a concoction of gin, vodka, and vermouth, will see $1 donated to the San Lucas Food Pantry as part of a fundraiser The Dandy Crown are hosting through the end of February. The Dandy Crown is collecting non-perishable, ready-to-eat food as well as any clean coats and blankets for the Humboldt Park Church.
The Dandy Crown kitchen will open its patio just for Fridays and Saturdays from 3 pm – 11 pm but cocktails will be available for pick-up on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4 pm – 7 pm. *New images to be added of the patio’s winter revamp in the coming days.
