The West Loop is known for its array of options to satisfy your sweet tooth, including a line of ice cream parlors and donut shops. Now, you can look forward to adding a popular Texas-born dessert shop to this list.
The Bougie Foodie is expanding beyond the Lone Star State for the first time, opening a new location in Chicago’s Fulton Market this April.
Founded by pastry chef and entrepreneur Brianna Cryar, the dessert shop has a passionate following—with people obsessing over the oversized cookies, scratch-made dessert bars, and signature family-recipe bread pudding, based on her grandmother’s original recipe.
The Chicago location will bring the brand’s signature “fresh-baked-all-day” approach to the city, offering warm cookies, bread pudding, and specialty desserts into the evening.
When I moved to Austin, I realized there weren’t any local bakeries open at night.
I wanted a place where people could stop by after dinner for a warm cookie or decadent dessert. Chicago felt like the perfect city for that same experience, and it’s somewhere I’ve wanted to live for a while now, so I moved up here and am looking forward to sharing our sweet treats with everyone in the area. Every item we offer is still made from scratch in small batches to preserve quality and flavor.
While Brianna launched The Bougie Foodie in January 2023 from a shared commercial kitchen in Austin, the brand quickly gained popularity through farmers’ markets, pop-up events, and social media.
It later expanded and ultimately opened a brick-and-mortar location on South Congress in Austin.
Among the Bougie Foodie menu highlights coming to Chicago:
- Choco Chip Cookie Mountain – A six-ounce gourmet chocolate chip cookie packed with premium Guittard semisweet chocolate chips and baked to achieve a crisp exterior and gooey center.
- Mimi’s Boozy Bread Pudding – Brianna’s grandmother’s recipe served warm with a rich brandy sauce.
- Rotating Cookie Mountain flavors – New monthly creations and seasonal specialties.
- Weekend specials – Including classic tiramisu and brioche cinnamon rolls dunked in a brown butter glaze.
