When you mention a trip to Texas, one place everyone recommends visiting—besides the San Antonio River Walk and Big Bend—is Buc-ee’s.
Buc-ee’s, the Texas-born mega travel center known for its pristine restrooms (some say they are the cleanest in America), offers a wide variety of snacks and boasts an expansive parking lot that seems to go on forever. Now, it’s finally making its way to the Midwest.

Construction began earlier this summer on a store in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, which is located just south of Milwaukee. The location is conveniently situated right off I-94, approximately an hour and a half from downtown Chicago. This new store will be Buc-ee’s northernmost location to date.
For those who have never visited Buc-ee’s, it’s not your typical gas station—it’s more like a combination of a convenience store, amusement park, and gas station all rolled into one. This Buc-ee’s will be an impressive 73,000 square feet, complete with over 100 gas pumps, a full bakery, and enough snack aisles to amaze anyone.
City officials expect the store to open in early 2028, although construction progress could potentially speed up that timeline.
