Hosted by Greektown Chicago, and presented by the Greektown Chamber of Commerce, the annual event returns for its 32nd year, bringing authentic food and drinks, live music, dancing, a gyro-eating contest, and so much more. Known to all as the city’s largest celebration of Hellenic cuisine and culture, the weekend event brings crowds together along Halstead Street for a celebration of acclaimed Greek food, live music, dancing, and local vendors.
The festival is proud to host several acclaimed Greek restaurants in the area like 9 Muses Bar & Grill, Artopolis Bakery, Cafe and Agora, Athena Restaurant, Mr. Greek Gyros, and Spectrum Bar & Grill. Each vendor will be serving their popular dishes including gyros, greek-style fries, hummus dishes, and other delectable offerings.
As for the 5th Annual Devanco Foods Gyros Eating Contest? Well, that takes place Saturday at 6 PM on the secondary stage. If you’re participating, make sure to bring your appetite.
Attendees can expect live entertainment on the Devanco Foods main stage. Starting on Friday from 5-10 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 10 PM. performers will be playing a mix of traditional and nostalgic music along with modern Greek tunes. DJ Yianni will play the second stage on Friday from 5 to 10 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 10 PM.
The Taste of Greektown hours are on Friday the 26th from 4 to 10 PM, Saturday, from 12 to 10 PM, and Sunday, from 12 to 10 PM. The event is free with an optional $7 donation suggested for attendees.
