Art and music combine at Chicago’s beloved Joy District rooftop this weekend.
This coming Sunday, August 29th, an unmissable amalgamation of art forms will take over Chicago’s beloved Joy District rooftop for Chicago’s third Tabula Rasa event. An array of musical talent spearheaded by the legendary house music DJ Felix Da Housecat will perform as live mural creations simultaneously unravel up on one of River North’s most awe-inspiring rooftops.
When it comes to Chicago’s collection of phenomenal rooftop bars Joy District’s multi-level escape is at the very pinnacle. Hypnotic light fixtures, comfortable patterned couches, and impeccable views create a formidable atmosphere up among Chicago’s skyline but it’s the magic of vibrant murals and cascading greenery that truly makes it stand out from the rest.
Featuring foliage-covered walls and a kaleidoscopic setup, there’s no place better for this scintillating one-off art and music experience.
The diverse group of musicians, muralists, and performers will be coming together at Joy District on August 29, offering a multisensory Sunday Funday experience like no other.
Sounds from Felix Da Housecat, Dom Brown, Arvi Mala, Chris Diaz, and Marea will reverberate around the rooftop as you feast your eyes on the masterful Afrokilla and Matr working their magic on giant murals.
Running from 2pm–10pm, general admission tickets start at $30 whilst VIP tickets can be purchased for $50. For groups really committed to eradicating their Sunday scaries with an unforgettable evening, a table service package including entry for 6 people with a private table is also $50 a head.
If there’s one way to forget about the chaos that has plagued the last year, it’s with house music, art, and creativity in all forms unraveling up among Chicago’s skyline in one of its best venues.
