Sweetgreen is expanding its Chicago presence with a new location set to open in the Loop next Tuesday.
The new location at 151 N. Franklin St. will employ an automated kitchen system, according to Block Club Chicago. The system has reportedly lowered labor costs for the company and can produce up to 500 salad bowls in an hour.
Guests will have the option to dine in at the 2,380-square-foot restaurant, which will have room for 16 guests.
Sweetgreen currently operates four locations in the loop. In an area with somewhat limited options for a fast and healthy lunch, the eco-conscious chain is a favorite among the downtown workforce.
In celebration of its grand opening, Sweetgreen will host a giveaway Tuesday with swag from local vendors. Guests can also stop by to enjoy a coffee and latte bar as well as exclusive merch.
