From an array of acclaimed museums to a flourishing street art scene, Chicago’s artistic prowess and propensity for encouraging creativity needs no emphasis. All over the city, streets and alleys are imbued with extraordinary murals that often leave us in awe of human potential.
Sometimes, to us mere mortals, the mastery and finesse with which street art has been created is hard to grasp. The deftness of detail achieved with just a spray can seems inconceivable. Well, what if we told you that that is about to change.
Thanks to a collaboration between Epiphany Center of the Arts, Studio W.I.P. and local Chicago artists, a new series of interactive street art workshops invites you to exercise your inner creativity and learn the ins and outs of urban art in Chicago.
Taking place every Friday through winter at the iconic Epiphany Center of the Arts, anybody and everybody can be enlightened and educated by some of Chicago’s tried and tested street artists.
These street art workshops provide the perfect setting in which to nurture an interest in street art while simultaneously offering a fun and laid-back experience.
Choosing from a variety of professional-grade odorless spray paints and an extensive library of stencils guests are invited to create their very own pieces of art while acquainting themselves with spray paint and stencil application.
Chicago artists Cool Disco Rich and Max Unterhaslberger will be on hand to help guests learn the tricks of the trade so you can let your inner artist run wild independently or with the guidance of a graffiti artist veteran whenever required.
There is no pressure, no presumptions, just a passion for creativity in all forms.
To make matters even more laid-back, Epiphany Golden Hour food and drink specials are available offering the respite of a refreshing beverage to accompany your artistic adventure.
Spray Paint Workshop: The Epiphany Sessions with Studio W.I.P. will be running various Fridays through winter from 5 pm to 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm to 9 pm.
