Ever since the Social Butterfly Coffee Shop opened in downtown Joliet, it has made waves. Whenever Chicago’s beloved celebrity Bill Murray visits Joliet, he can often be found at the Social Butterfly.
According to the Patch, as a part-owner of the Joliet Slammers, Murray has not only visited the coffee shop once but has made several appearances.
However, beyond Bill Murray’s love for the shop, the coffee spot is celebrating a momentous achievement—its first year in business —and, for this occasion, they will be hosting a first-birthday block party this weekend.

Social Butterfly Coffee is shutting down a street for its 1st birthday bash
On Saturday, June 13, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Social Butterfly Coffee will close down Crowley Avenue right outside their business for the celebration.
The block party will feature DJs Velshay, Chavez, and Cosmic throughout the day. This eight-hour event will include special birthday menu items, at least 17 local vendors, various activities, live art, puppies available for adoption, prize raffles, giveaways, and live music all day long.
Some of the participating vendors will include Audiophils, Prison City Vintage, Black Cat Curiosities, Matt Buko Studio, MG Jewelry, Seapeak Style, Rejuvenate Plants & Wellness, and more.
