Much to the excitement of soccer fans all around the city, an exciting new soccer venue opened in Chicago last year taking the city’s soccer scene to new heights.
Located atop the NEWCITY parking structure in Lincoln Park, the Skyline Pitch opened as “Chicago’s 1st rooftop soccer venue for guests of all ages to train, play, and celebrate the game of futsal and soccer with an unmatched view of the beautiful Chicago skyline.”
First thought to be a temporary fixture, the skyline pitch and its variety of leagues have returned for a spring and summer season now running through to October.
Home to a soccer field, a futsal court, a Panna Cage, a Fut Tennis court, and a TEQ Ball table, there’s no shortage of fun for soccer enthusiasts up on the 24,500-square-foot rooftop facility.
As well as regular training programs, pick-up games, leagues, tournaments, and special partner events there is a lounge space with a DJ booth and some of Chicagos’ most popular food trucks situated around the rooftop offering a range of different authentic snacks.
“Chicago is an amazing soccer town, and we built Skyline Pitch to celebrate the beautiful sport in the world’s most beautiful city“, said founder and managing director, Ivan Lopez. “The only thing better than gathering with friends and teammates to play is to do so with an incredible panoramic view of Chicago’s skyline. Playing at Skyline Pitch will be an unforgettable experience for anyone who visits.”
The spring program began at the end of April with pick-up games, one-day cups, and various women’s, men’s, and coed leagues taking place throughout the week for different ages and abilities.
Both the futsal court and turf field can be rented on an hourly basis for those wanting to just play with friends or throw an elevated B-Day bash.
