From Maggie Daley to McCormick, Chicago has no shortage of sensational ice skating rinks around the city. But while they all offer magical winter memories surrounded by lights and laughter, there is only one that offers you the chance to skate up amongst the Chicago Skyline.
Located on the 4th floor of the Peninsula Chicago Hotel, which was recently named one of the best hotels on the planet, guests can this winter once again enjoy a one-of-a-kind hybrid rink perched high above above Magnificent Mile.
Returning for its 11th season in Chicago this coming Saturday, November 18th, the 2,100 square feet Peninsula Sky Rink will provide an elevated winter wonderland for 20+ select days through to the end of the year.
In addition to a rooftop bedecked in pine trees, snowflakes, and Christmas lighting, a chalet provides cocktails, hot beverages, and seasonal snacks to ensure skaters are kept well-fueled and well-fed while maximizing time up on the iconic rink.
Adults can rent skates at the Sky Rink for $20 while children 12 and under can rent for $10. 100% of the skate rental proceeds will be donated to two Chicago children’s charities: Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, and Hephzibah Children’s Association.
The Sky Rink can be found on the fourth-floor terrace of the Peninsula Chicago located at 108 E Superior St, Chicago.
