Six Flags Great America has returned for its wonderful “Holiday in the Park” celebration, and this year it’s back in a totally socially distant format.
Six Flags Great America is now officially open to guests for the first time in 2020. The thrill capital of the Midwest opened on November 27, 2020, for its third season of Holiday In The Park. The magical holiday event will feature over three million dazzling lights to delight guests of all ages. As one of the top 20 most attended amusement parks in North America, you can bet no small measures have been taken for this year’s light extravaganza.
The 300-acre property will feature twinkling holiday light displays spread throughout the grounds, world-class entertainment designed for safe open-air viewing, and socially-distanced photo opportunities with costumed characters as well as special seasonal treats and surprises.
The much-loved family tradition has introduced new health and wellness protocols to ensure a safe environment where everybody can experience the magic of the holidays without the risk of endangering their health.
In keeping with guidelines laid out by Governor JB Pritzker, the park will operate at a reduced capacity and no rides will be operating until next year. There will also be extensive safety measures and hygiene protocols, including several new advanced technology systems to protect guests and employees. These include state-of-the-art thermal imaging for temperature checks; advanced security screening technology for touchless bag checks, and expanded mobile food ordering.
Holiday in the Park Lights will run from Friday, November 27, 2020, through Wednesday, December 30, 2020, with select dates open for shorter hours. Tickets are only $19.99 per person and reservations are required. Find out more here!
