The Shedd Aquarium made national headlines earlier this year following the birth of an ultra-rare warty frogfish.
Now, after months of anticipation, the aquatic critter is on view to the public.

Meet Domino the Warty Frogfish
In March, the Shedd became the first aquarium ever to successfully raise a warty frogfish from egg to hatchling.
Since then the rare fish has been growing and reaching milestones behind the scenes—until now.
Shedd visitors can now visit Domino the warty frogfish at the aquarium’s Wild Reef exhibit—but guests will have to look closely.
The baby frogfish is known for its remarkably small size, and ability to blend in with its surroundings.
The fish is approximately the size of a quarter, and enjoys hiding in the algae and rocks of its habitat, according to the Shedd.
“Moments like these reflect the heart of Shedd’s mission, bringing people closer to nature and helping them form personal connections that will last a lifetime,” said Jenny Richards, senior aquarist.
“Now, we hope everyone can have this experience at the aquarium as you lean in and look for this yellow, red-spotted itty-bitty fish.”
