Shedd Aquarium free days just got bigger and better!
Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium has announced that Illinois residents can enter the aquarium for free every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of September starting Tuesday, September 7. Last month the aquarium treated Illinois residents to free admission every Thursday in August and now the beloved attraction has taken it a step further offering THREE free days a week through September 29.
According to an official press release on the Shedd Aquarium website, “Following Labor Day, Shedd Aquarium will offer Illinois Resident Free Days in September on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout the month. On select dates, the aquarium will also extend its hours to expand access for an unforgettable experience with animals from sea lions to stingrays and penguins to Pacific white-sided dolphins and so much more.”
Tickets need to be secured ahead of a visit by booking online at sheddaquarium.org/plan-a-visit or over the phone by calling 312-939-2438. Free entry will not be permitted to guests who walk up without a reservation and when at the aquarium “all adults must provide proof of residency in-person when redeeming tickets at the discounted rate.” This can be a valid state ID or driver’s license with proof of Illinois residence.
The aquarium will be open from 9 am to 7 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
