The Shedd Aquarium adopted an adorable two-toed sloth in late 2025—and now the cuddly critter is ready to meet guests up close and personal!
Aquarium staff announced in an Instagram post shared Tuesday that the aquarium’s resident sloth “Alface” will now meet guests outside her habitat.
“After a year of exploring her habitat, learning new behaviors and getting to know her caretakers, Alface, a Linné’s two-toed sloth, will now be making surprise appearances throughout the aquarium during visiting hours and special events,” reads the post.
Alface reportedly possesses a gentle and sleepy disposition, making her a perfect ambassador for the aquarium and the two-toed sloth species.
According to the Shedd, the cuddly critter will help guests learn about sloths and raise awareness for species conservation efforts.
