One of the city’s most beloved delicatessens, owned by husband-and-wife duo Jake and Ariel Schneider, is opening its highly anticipated all-day location in Lincoln Park on Wednesday, April 1st.
After the success of their original Schneider Deli, tucked inside the Ohio House Motel, this second location marks a new, larger chapter amid a bagel boom in the city’s sandwich scene.
The new 1,750-square-foot deli will seat 41 customers, accommodating more corned beef and matzo ball soup than ever before, effectively doubling the original location’s capacity.

The design of the space balances nostalgia with modern elements, featuring playful pink interiors crafted by Jake’s aunt and uncle at Becker Architects. In homage to Jake’s lifelong appreciation for Jewish cuisine, the walls are adorned with family photos and memories that have shaped him into the steward of deli culture he is today.
Chef/owner Jake Schneider said:
Schneider Deli has been a real labor of love. Lincoln Park is the perfect place for us to start our second chapter, and opening here is our deli dream come true. The Chicago community has shown up for us from the start, and we’re excited to serve as an all-day gathering space for this truly special neighborhood.
The menu will include iconic half-sour pickles that honor Jake and Ariel’s roots in the pop-up scene, alongside house-cured fish, crispy latkes, juicy pastrami, and stacked bagel sandwiches that have established the brand as a Chicago staple.
There will also be plenty of new offerings, including sweet marshmallow twists and a brand-new handheld item called the “Hot Reuben,” featuring freshly carved pastrami, pepper jack cheese, and a hot Giardinera Russian dressing, created in collaboration with Chicago’s Caruso Provisions.
