Behind the scenes at Ravinia’s new Hunter Pavilion

The Hunter Pavilion will open to attendees on Saturday, July 11, with an inaugural concert by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, marking the start of the orchestra’s 90th summer residency at Ravinia.
The renovation of the Hunter Pavilion is part of Ravinia’s broader “Setting the Stages” campaign, a $75 million, multi-year restoration plan for the campus, supported by the Hunter Family Foundation and other donors.
The redesigned pavilion boasts a new state-of-the-art sound system, enhanced stage and acoustic shell, improved lighting fixtures, upgraded seating, and better accessibility features.

The grand opening of the facility coincides with Ravinia’s 122nd season. The 2026 lineup includes performances from Chance the Rapper, Kool & the Gang, the Alabama Shakes, and other big names.
“Ravinia’s historic pavilion transformation was inspired by a family’s love. We are excited to welcome artists and audiences to the state-of-the-art Hunter Pavilion,” says Jeffrey P. Haydon, Ravinia President & CEO.
“Ravinia will continue to present a range of performances that will inspire generations to come.”
